What we know about Iran’s secretive Fordow nuclear site

Five tunnels burrowing into a group of mountains, a large support structure and a wide security perimeter: that's all you can see of Iran's mysterious Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant from recent satellite imagery. The secretive, heavily guarded complex built close to the holy city of Qom has been fuelling speculation about its true nature and size since it was first made public in 2009. A chunk of what we do know about it comes from a trove of Iranian documents stolen years ago by Israeli intelligence. An Israeli strike on a school sheltering the displaced in the Gaza Strip has killed at least 27 people, Palestinian medical officials say. The Israeli military said its Thursday strike targeted militants hiding among civilians, without providing evidence. Israel has continued to strike at what it says are militant targets across the Palestinian enclave even as attention has shifted to its war against Hezbollah in Lebanon and rising tensions with Iran. French President Emmanual Macron has called for a halt to arms shipments to Israel during a radio interview. Macron said on radio station France Inter that finding a "political solution" to Israel's war on Gaza was a priority and an arms embargo should be considered. The president said his position would be that "arms used to fight in Gaza are halted. France doesn't ship any."
