Iran acknowledges US strikes after Trump confirms bombs were dropped on Fordow nuclear facility

Iran has acknowledged its Fordow nuclear facility was attacked during a strike carried out by the US military today. Iran's state-run IRNA news agency early on Sunday quoted a statement from Iran's Qom province after US President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes in a post to social media. IRNA said: "A few hours ago, when Qom air defenses were activated and hostile targets were identified, part of the Fordow nuclear site was attacked by enemies." What we know about Iran’s secretive Fordow nuclear site

Five tunnels burrowing into a group of mountains, a large support structure and a wide security perimeter: that's all you can see of Iran's mysterious Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant from recent satellite imagery. The secretive, heavily guarded complex built close to the holy city of Qom has been fuelling speculation about its true nature and size since it was first made public in 2009.
