As tensions escalate in the Strait of Hormuz after US and Iran both fire at ships

The Strait of Hormuz was on lockdown on Monday after a tense weekend in which Iran was accused of attacking two Indian-flagged vessels and the U.S. Marines fired at and seized an Iranian-flagged ship. The escalating tensions over the vital passage for oil and international trade came amid a U.S. naval blockade of the strait and Iran's declaration on Sunday that it had closed the waterway after briefly reopening it.
