For a fashion label as French as escargot, Balenciaga has mastered American pop culture. In just the past year, the 105-year-old label has released an official co-authorized episode of “The Simpsons,” turning America’s longest-running animated show into a 10-minute romp of frocks and fashion sight gags. In many ways, the fashion show Thursday near the Venice boardwalk by French luxury house Dior delivered coastal California conventions. Like most fashion girlies, I have a thing for shoes. But being a New Yorker, I’ve also been forced to categorize my footwear collection into walkable (meaning appropriate for the city I live in) and aspirational (aka better for L.A. or anywhere that I’ll primarily be in a car) options. Stephen Curry took some social media flak in the past for his shoes, which, at times, have been considered boring. Those giggles have died down with newer models, but one thing is still the same: they are loud. Yes, loud. As in, the shoes squeak loudly on the court, and that is by design. According to two people who work at Under Armour, Teva Sandals the squeak is one of the most important features for Curry. Kort Neumann was the lead designer for the Curry 3, and during an interview with ThePostGame, he noted that Curry is heavily involved in the design of the shoes and explained the things that Curry demands in his shoes.
