$13,000 DON’T LOOK UP SHOES CONTAIN REAL BITS OF METEORITE

Holy rich people, Batman! Netflix and New Balance have teamed up for a limited edition pair of sneakers that celebrates the upcoming release of Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up and they cost $13,200. The shoes do contain real meteorite fragments, however, which would be a perfect match for anybody with an $8,600 T. rex-fossil phone. Sotheby’s DesignTAXI reported on the new, pricey pair of kicks, which help market McKay’s new satirical romp. The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, Latest Jordan 2020 sees two low-level astronomers embark on a massive media tour to warn humankind of impending doom from an approaching comet. Inspired by the film, the shoes contain small pieces of a 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite; one that a geologist found near the settlement of Seymchan in Rus...

You’ve worked, saved and built a good nest egg: Yes, it’s OK to buy the shoes

At a recent meeting with friends (who happen to be clients of our firm), the wife asked me if she should buy some expensive shoes. This couple works hard and has a good income. They are excellent savers, putting away at least 30% of their income into retirement funds and after-tax accounts. They drive nice cars and have a beautiful home — all affordable to them. So, why the question about a pair of shoes? We see this segmentation of how people think about how they spend money frequently.  Certain items (a nicer car, or perhaps nicer clothes) seem more like reasonable necessities, New Nike Sneakers   while other items (a better cabin on a cruise vacation, or nice shoes) seem like a possibly unnecessary luxury. We get many questions about budgeting and what is reasonable to save instead o...

The Sad Reason Carrie Is Wearing *Those* Shoes in And Just Like That…’s Most Shocking Scene

Those who have watched the first episode of HBO Max's Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That ... , know that within those first 45 minutes, we lose a beloved character. Yes, unfortunately the rumor is true: Big is dead — and thinking about the costumes from that unforgettable scene somehow makes us feel even worse. That's because, as we see early on in the show, Carrie Bradshaw rewears her wedding shoes that very same day. She shows them to her husband prior to attending Skechers Outlets  Charlotte's daughter Lily's concert, and has them on when she arrives home, where she finds Big on the floor. Who knew thinking about specific fashion could make us tear up and feel so emotional? Well, for starters, the show's costume designers, Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, did. ...

No. 23 Seton Hall Edges No. 7 Texas 64-60 for 2nd Top-10 Win

By TOM CANAVAN, AP Sports Writer NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — After getting overlooked in the preseason polls, Jared Rhoden and his Seton Hall teammates decided to do something about it — and they have. Harper Connects at Buzzer, Rutgers Shocks No. 1 Purdue 70-68

By MATT SUGAM, Associated Press PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Ron Harper Jr.'s dad hit plenty of big shots in a career that included five NBA titles, so perhaps it was no surprise that Harper told his Rutgers teammates he'd send them home winners against No. 1 Purdue. He backed up his words with the most stunning shot of the young college hoops season. Harper hit a buzzer-beater from just inside half court, and Rutgers shocked Purdue in its first-ever game as the nation’s No. 1 team, winning 70-68 on Thursday night. “Wow wow wow!” Magic Johnson tweeted. Harper finished with a career-high 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting Hey Dudes and 10 rebounds in a do-it-all performance for the Scarlet Knights (5-4, 1-1 Big Ten), who beat the top-ranked team for the first...
